What makes a good story

The best submissions are specific. What was the symptom? What did you try first? What turned out to be wrong? How long did it take? Include numbers and dates where you can. Do not worry about polish, since we edit for clarity.

Guidelines

• Remove passwords, keys, IP addresses and anything else private.
• Do not name people or companies in a way that could harm them. You can describe a type of provider instead.
• Stories are edited for length and clarity and are always marked as reader-submitted.
• We do not publish anything we suspect is promotional or made up.
