What PHP memory limit should I use?

256 MB is a common comfortable setting for WordPress. Shops and page builders may need 512 MB. If you keep running out at much higher values, something is misbehaving, and raising the limit only hides it. Check which plugin or request is consuming the memory.

Should I pay for a premium WordPress theme?

Pay if the theme is actively maintained, has a good support record, and you need its features. Never use pirated copies of premium themes. They often contain hidden backdoors, and it is among the most common ways small sites get compromised.

Is it safe to let WordPress update itself automatically?

Minor security releases, yes, and they are on by default. For plugins and themes, automatic updates are convenient but can break things unexpectedly. A staging copy plus backups lets you update confidently, and automatic updates are a reasonable choice for low-risk plugins.

How many plugins is too many?

There is no magic number. A site with forty well-written plugins can be faster than one with ten heavy ones. Remove what you do not use, avoid overlapping features, and test performance after adding each one.

Why does WordPress show a white screen after an update?

Usually a fatal PHP error in a plugin or theme, often from an incompatible version. Enable error logging, read the log, then deactivate the culprit by renaming its folder over SFTP.

What is the difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org?

WordPress.org provides the free software you install on your own hosting. WordPress.com is a hosted service that runs it for you with its own plans and restrictions. The first gives full control; the second removes maintenance.

Can I move my WordPress site without a plugin?

Yes. Copy the files, export and import the database, update the configuration file and, if the address changes, replace the old address in the database. A migration plugin automates the same steps.

Why are my WordPress images blurry or huge?

Blurry images are usually being stretched beyond their real size. Huge ones are uploaded at camera resolution. Resize before uploading, use the sizes WordPress generates, and compress them.
